Client Communication Regarding WD Hard Disk Problems
WD My Passport 1.5TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black
Today, I used my WD My Passport 1.5TB Portable External Hard Drive on my computer and something unusual happened. Just like most mornings, I just plug it on one of the ports at the back of my computer before I starting working on some projects. However, on this day, I mistakenly plugged it on the wrong port. I placed it on an E-SATA coded slot and at the very instant that I plugged it in, I saw a spark fly, which made me realized I made a mistake. I didn’t know that it was that very serious already until I saw my PC reboot itself. I am worried now because when I plugged it on the right port, and I made sure of that this time, the WD My Passport 1.5TB Portable External Hard Drive is no longer recognised. I cannot access my files anymore and instead, I keep getting an error saying “USB device not recognised”. Upon checking on the Device Manager, it returns an error code 43. When I plug the hard drive on the computer, the power light still turns on and the read/write access light also turns on.
WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Red
I have a WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Red. I connected it to my notebook and it was working perfectly fine until today when I connected it to another computer and it notified me to install the device. It was recognised by that said computer but I just had to wait for the installation to finish. Mid-way the installation, it failed and so I had to just remove it. After that instance, I can no longer use the hard drive. It is not recognised by my notebook, which used to detect it perfectly well before. I tried it on other computers and it remains unrecognisable. I called WD about it and they said they would replace the drive under warranty but if I need the data recovered to use a Data Recovery Company like yourselves.
